Excellent connectivity with other cities, industry-friendly policies and infrastructure has made Bhiwandi the most important industrial and warehousing hub. The Regional Plan for Bhiwandi Surrounding Notified Area (BSNA) has been approved and MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority) is the Special Planning Authority for development in and around the city of Mumbai. The Maharashtra state government brought in numerous initiatives to foster Industries in the region and laid the ground work for steady industrial growth.
